Car Insurance Peugeot (Car Insurance). Why does my amp perform better when bridged? Why does my amp perform better when bridged? I have a small 1200 watt legacy 2 channel amp that puts out more db's(about 25 more) when bridged than it does when it's properly connected. I have 2 Sony 12 inch subs the amp powers. Any info would be appreciated. An example of power output capabilities of a well built(good power supply design) amp: Let's say a 2ch amp that puts out 150 watts/ch, will output double the power(600watts) of both channels combined. However, Legacy amps are garbage(sorry) and are most unlikely to do what the above amp example can do. You will, nevertheless get more power output from your Legacy than the two channels combined. Testing output deltas with a single low-frequency tone(a more valid way to test) will give you an accurate SPL measurement. 25db is way too unrealistic. Keep in mind, to get a 3db increase without changing anything other than increased amplifier power will require twice the power. because it f*cking feels like it because your jamming all of that power into one channel instead of 2/3/4 multiple channels When you bridge an amp, you're effectively doubling the power for that channel. You're combining channel 1 and channel 2 power. If you wired the subs in parallel with one channel being used as bridged power it would sound a lot louder than if you wire wired both channels straight to each speaker. Peugeot . How to Paint Alloy RimsAlloy wheels not only make a vehicle look better but can also contribute to the value of it. Over time though, wheels can begin to look faded, scratched and dingy due to their vulnerable location near the road, where they are subject to dirt and debris being thrown onto the wheel. A set of wheels can be painted in a weekend with the right tools and approach and can result in a far better looking vehicle. Difficulty:Moderately Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need Floor jack (if removing the wheels from the vehicle) Jack stands Paint stripper Rubber gloves Respirator 120-grit, 220-grit, 400-grit, 600-grit, 800-grit wet sandpaper Masking tape Mineral spirits Lint-free rags Spray primer Spray paint Clear coat (if using a clear coat) Step by Step : 1 Remove the wheels from the vehicle if they are still installed. Loosen the lug nuts, lift the vehicle with a floor jack and support it with jack stands while you remove the wheel. Have the tires removed by a tire shop. Though this is not absolutely necessary, the paint job will look better if the tires removed. 2 Apply paint stripper to the wheels to remove the old paint. Let the stripper soak in until the paint begins to bubble and then wipe off the paint with a rag. Use 120-grit sand paper to remove stubborn spots. Wear rubber gloves and a respirator when stripping the wheels. 3 Fix any gouges or scratches in the wheels by filling them in with liquid metal. Sand the filler in after it has dried so it is level with the undamaged areas of the wheel. 4 Sand the entire wheel with 120-grit and then with 220-grit sandpaper. Clean the wheel with mineral spirits until the surface to be painted is entirely free of grease and residue. If you left the tires on the wheels, mask off the tires with masking tape and paper so the tires do not get paint on them. 5 Spray on a light coat of primer and let it dry for a minute. Spray on a solid coat and let the primer dry for about 10 minutes. Hold the can 6 to 8 inches from the wheel and spray in a smooth back and forth motion. Apply more coats until the entire wheels is covered solidly with primer. Allow the primer to dry for several hours. 6 Wet-sand the wheels with 400-grit and then 600-grit sandpaper. Sand in one direction. This should give a smooth surface to spray the color onto. Wipe the wheel down with mineral spirits and a clean, dry, lint-free rag. 7 Spray a light coating of the color of your choice on the wheels. Let the paint dry for a minute or so and then spray on a solid coat. Let the paint dry for an hour and apply another coat. Spray on three or four heavy coats. Let the paint dry for several hours. 8 Wet-sand the paint with 600-grit and then 800-grit wet sandpaper. Wipe the wheels down with mineral spirits. If you want to the give the wheels a more shiny appearance, spray on a clear coat in the same way that the color coat was applied. 9 Let the paint dry overnight. Reinstall the tires if they were removed. Reinstall the wheels onto the vehicle and lower it to the ground.
Peugeot . How to Cut Lowering SpringsInstalling suspension springs that are lower than the existing springs on a car is a very common method of improving the vehicle's performance. These springs lower the car's center of gravity and reduce body roll, increasing grip while also making the vehicle look more sporty. While the most effective method of lowering a vehicle is installing springs that are specifically engineered for a lower ride height, it is possible to merely cut the existing springs. Difficulty:Moderately Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need Floor jack Jack stands Tire iron Socket set and ratchet Spring compressor Angle grinder, plasma cutter or metal cutting tool Masking tape Mineral spirits Primer Paint Step by Step : 1 Park the vehicle on a level surface. Loosen the lug bolts on the wheels with a tire iron. Lift the vehicle with a floor jack at all four corners (one side at a time) and lower it onto jack stands. Finish removing the wheels and set them aside. 2 Remove the springs. This will vary depending on the make and model. At the front, most modern cars use a spring and strut design. The struts must be removed from the suspension as a unit. Consult a workshop manual for specific directions on how to remove the struts. Separate the spring from the struts. Repeat for the remaining corners of the vehicle. 3 Cut the springs in pairs, first the fronts and then the rears. This will help maintain a consistent ride height. Place the two front springs next to each other. Decide how many coils (1/2, 1, etc.) you will be removing. If you are unsure, start by removing 1/2 or even 1/4 of a coil. You can always go back and remove more. 4 Use a piece of masking tape to mark where the cut will be made by carefully wrapping the tape around the spring. Make a similar mark on the other spring. Place the two springs side by side and make sure the marks are on the same place on the springs. 5 Cut the springs on the marks you made with a metal cutting device. An electric angle grinder or a plasma cutter will quickly and efficiently cut the metal of the spring. Place the two springs side by side, once the cuts are made, to ensure that they are the same height. 6 Repeat the above procedure for the rear springs. Keep in mind that you generally do not want the rear to be lower than the front. Prime and paint the springs after they have been cut to prevent them from rusting. Wipe them down with mineral spirits then apply several heavy coats of primer, followed by several coats of paint. 7 Reinstall the springs in the reverse order of removal. Reinstall the wheels and lower the vehicle to the ground. Take the vehicle into a service center to have the suspension aligned as it will be altered by the lower ride height. Tips & Warnings While cutting springs can be an acceptable way to lower a vehicle, it is difficult to determine how stiff the springs will be after they are cut. Your vehicle's ride and handling may be adversely affected if the springs are too low so err on the conservative side when removing coils from the spring. From my experience, small claims procedures are usually swift and fair and aimed at allowing "the little guy" to bring a case of litigation without the need for legal or technical expertise or for great amounts of time and money. If all else fails, don't hesitate to avail yourself of this alternative. Many establishments would prefer to settle a dispute personally than to lose valuable time in court and have the fact that they've been sued by dissatisfied customers known to the general public and to the Better Business Bureau. 10.
